This is a quick I'm not sure if its a portrait, but its a painting of one of my heroes Ben, he is an amazing designer, and a pretty solid friend.

Ben graced us with his presence on the fourth, and in honor of this thug doing so well in Cali, I painted him a quick picture.

I tried to incorporate some arbitrary colors into this one, I'm not sure if they are actually working, but I like the life they bring to the image.

I don't really have a lot of photo reference, so Jenny is being abused on this website.

So after that master copy, I thought I would give it a shot, and um, here it is I guess. This is my first time really trying to combine the loose-ness of my oil painting and my digital painting. So be gentle. I am still a lot looser in my oils, but in avoiding the photo-rendering, I found myself smiling.

After Milt Kobayashi

I got really really frustrated today so I did a quick master copy study. He was referenced by someone on CGHub, so I googled him and just grabbed one and copied it. This took about an hour, so it's not 100 percent there, but just something to get me motivated.

Whats on the Agenda

Just some stuff I'm working on for the weekend. Um, I'm not sure if I want to completely render out the first image, I still have hours and hours left on it, but it's coming along sort of the way I would like it to go.

Just a project on how, people get absorbed into the book they are reading, on how that is where you sometimes find the happiness you need. I guess I kind of want it to feel like it's an escape from your normal life. Sketch 1 felt a little stiff, so we went all Mucha on it.

Then I colored it? Sort of, trying to go for a crazy psychedelic look, using only a couple of colors.

I haven't painted anything digitally in a while, so I was just messing around with the sketch I did yesterday.

Student Art Show

Of course, I put this one in as well. I didn't get to last year, because I hadn't made it yet. It won 1st in the illustration category! Which was super nice of Huntsman to give it first! I heart that guy.

I got one in the Printmaking category, which is awesome.


This one was the in the Oil Painting category. After one of my heroes Chuck Close.

messing around with skin tones

did this in about 25mins, saw a skin tone demo and thought I would give it a shot

Obviously need some new type on that bad jackson, also need to clean up a lot of it, but this is the general look.
