Sketch for a new print

I already made a rough drypoint of it, but I 'm going to explore a more realistic print style, much like J. Alder Wier's drypoint work.

Best of both worlds

I love "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." I also enjoy "Free Radio," so you put them together and voila, you have some classic crass humor. Probably not the best video to play while at work or around small children, not overly explicit, but it has some racism in it.

Bad pictures of another painting.

Still lives confuse me. That sounds like some sort of really deep and meaningful statement, but in reality it just means I'm not very good at painting still lifes or lives. I'm not sure. This painting is actually a lot cooler in person.

um this painting is 24 inches by 30 inches, so it is a beast, Also it is caked with oil paint. I finished it like 2 and a half weeks ago and it is still wet.

The C. Moulton Experiment

So Chris and I decided to paint some landscapes, We did these in a few hours over the last couple of days, they were a ton of fun. Going to have to continue to do these and get better at painting.
This one is mine.

This one is Chris Moulton's painting.

Student Art Show

Of course, I put this one in as well. I didn't get to last year, because I hadn't made it yet. It won 1st in the illustration category! Which was super nice of Huntsman to give it first! I heart that guy.

I got one in the Printmaking category, which is awesome.

This one was the in the Oil Painting category. After one of my heroes Chuck Close.

Highly Reccomend it

Coldplay's - "Strawberry Swing" music video.

Seriously this is one of my favorite videos, it makes me smile every time I watch it, even to the point where I bought it on the ol' iTunes. Watch it, Live it, Love it.

Why do you torture me September

Hopefully in September...

The Good,

My busted left Clavicle will be back to normal so I can go back to living.

Huntsman, Griffin, and JIMISON!!!!! (back in school)

The new season of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia!"
here is a taste.

The Bad,

My Girlfriend is leaving to go on her mission. Which I know I am a douche for not putting that in the "good" section. It is a very very good thing, and I'm super proud of her I just don't want her to be away for that long.

The cold weather approaching.

The Ugly,

Not sure what I can throw in this category.

Da Printmaking

This piece was my first edition ever, it was 2 different plates, and believe me when I tell you this. It was a pain to get them registered. Not the biggest fan of them but it was a nice refresher of what is takes to make those prints.

This was a piece I did while I was messing around in the printmaking lab, back when I had time to goof around in there. Hopefully I can get back in there pretty soon and start pumping out some more.

A plethora

Of possibly badly taken photographs and so on. I'm not entirely sure how to take pictures of Oil paintings, it will become extremely apparent here in a second.

Note to the Editor- Blogger is not wanting me to upload images, so maybe soon there will be some pictures.

A taste.

I'm pretty sure this is where "One-eyed Willy's" pirate ship appears at the end of Goonies. But I can't make any promises cause I only saw that movie a couple of years ago, for the first time.

Spring is upon us, kind of

It's still cold outside, but warming up a little, since it is still a little bit chilly out the entertainment Gods have blessed us with this.

Three O' Clock High

Hulu has added one of the greatest movies ever, seriously this movie will blow your mind with pure unfiltered awesome. Brady talked about this movie like it was the ark of the covenant back in the day, so as soon as I found a copy I watched it, I was not disappointed. This movie is probably the best bully/fight movie around. I mean its the bad guy from Kindergarten Cop, how awesome is that. I didn't even know he was in any other movies.

The trademark face grab.
For realsies though, if it's kind of drab and dreary outside, pop on this classic. I was honestly cheering for Jerry at the end.

A most excellent card

Seriously, that card is awesome.

I am back in school and super excited to start painting and printing, I am going to be super busy this semester, but hopefully that means I will have a butt load of work to put up on my recently lacking blog.

KVCC East Gallery

I constitute about 20% of the gallery MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! over at KVCC they have a gallery that the Dean of the "Center for New Media" which is like the art department of KVCC, jurors. Both of the pieces I submitted made it so that is super cool. Also they print them off, so I didn't even have to pay for the prints.

A little place

I made an etsy shop a while back, I didn't really try to get into etsy or anything, but I think I am going to give it a shot.

Here it is.
TenBu's Etsy Shop

I just have 1 item up for sale, my monochromatic "Antler Girl" piece. If anyone who looks at this blog would like any of the pieces I have made in the past, comment on this post and say which one, and I will get on it, and post it.

Life on Mars

A most excellent show, which I highly recommend. Yes, that is Harvey Keitel in the picture, he is on the show, seriously like you need any other reason to watch.

A little background, it's about a cop who in 2008 gets hit by a car, and goes into a coma. He wakes up in 1973, has an apartment, and has recently transferred under Harvey Keitel. The show is a mix of catching bad guys, trying to explain how things are done in 2008 versus 1973, and figuring out if he can make it back to 2008. One of the cooler things about the show, beside amazing 1970's cop action. I mean like in "So I married an Axe Murdered," when Mike Myer's friend is asking his boss to be more like a T.V. cop, this show is chock full of that. Beating up bad guys, borderline torture for information, sweet action beat cops that would put Sean Connery to shame in "The Untouchables."

This show has me hooked, I love watching it, the costumes are amazing too, there a lot of little details that you notice that make the show a little more "real." Like the cigarette packages, the coffee cups, the rotary telephones, the payphones they use in order to get back to headquarters.

Also in true form, this show is based off an award winning British show of the same name. Just goes to prove the British are amazing. (Top Gear. Single best bit of televison known to man)

It's on after "Lost," so just hang out after your mind is blown, and check it out, you will not regret it.

Scary

This is a link to all the artwork in the 2009 Society of Illustrators Student show
Click Me!

Holy crap ringling school is tearing it up with TWICE as many accepted entries than Academy of Art, and 22 more winners than Art Center! I thought that ringling was just a circus, but apparently they are amazing. If you search far and wide you will find hidden in there BYU-Idaho and you can see Josh's and I's work.

Something that is also noteworthy is the art that was chosen for the catalog, was a girl from Kendall School, which is up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a place that I have mocked on many an occasion, I feel now like I maybe will be put in my place.

There really is some just amazing work in this show, I am just glad to be put in the same room with some of these guys. I will say this though, SAM WEBER is a judge, which is awesome if I can meet that guy, I will get to check off one of the old life goals. It's even cool to think he is going to look at one of my pieces, btw too he is a super nice guy, I have talked to him a couple of time through emails.

Cool stuff

I was accepted into the Society of Illustrators Student show, My lady with antlers. I am super pumped about it, but also nervous because I have seen the work from past years. Even though it's awesome to be in the show, I don't want to be the worst one there. So I am touching up the piece to make it more awesome.

Spaceships.

The Assignment
Spaceship with a bumper sticker and Guns

Not a big fan of them, in general unless Han Solo is at the helm. This was really my first try at one of them. I don't like how it turned out at all. It was a spot illustration which I have decided I'm not too keen on either, because I don't get to mess with the format. but any who, you live you learn, you hate spaceships.

Some Hits of 2008

James threw up some of his picks for sweetness in 2008, and he totally jacked a bunch from me, Islands, Black Keys, Whitsundays. Know this about my list, I whipped it up in a flurry, also I realized it's super hard to remember what came out in 2008, I'm sure there are a butt load of songs that I will see later, and be like "oh crap, I should have put that one up." So I just threw a couple up.

Mykonos - Fleet Foxes
Lately - The Helio Sequence
Walking - The Dodos
For Emma - Bon Iver
Real Emotional Trash - Steven Malkmus
Forever - Walter Meego
I Want it All - The Whitsundays
Strange Times - The Black Keys
Oxford Comma - Vampire Weekend (Shut up, I like them)
Electric Feel - MGMT

couldn't find a link to Steven Malkmus or Whitsundays, but if I find one I'll post it
