You are seriously going all "James Jean" on me. This is great. Have you thought of using some strong linework like James Jean? It might give the finished piece less of a computer-y feel.
If I were you, I would ask Wadester, Burr and Brandon Dorman how they make their digital paintings not look digital. That would put your work over the top and into the seriously professional... group... of something.

There's something about the blue circle behind her that makes the whole thing surreal.
I like that the tearing around the hood is minor. Like she just grew these. But the look on her face makes them seem like a long time burden.
