Question. Do you find painting people in B & White is more or less difficult than in color? I'm thinking about trying my hand at a portrait and I'm a wee bit nervous... Any suggestions?
It's easier to paint black and white in a sense, because you aren't messing with the "right" color. But the same problems arise with black and white as color. Composition and arrangement, basically its all still just values, you will be fine. Tips? If I was good at this I would have some, light the model at about 45 degrees, smiles and teeth are really hard to get right, make the hands interesting if you are going to include them. It helps to know the person you are painting a little, you will start to emphasize things without thinking and begin to create a portrait rather than a picture. I hope that helps a little

FINE ART!
I like that you decided to keep the shirt a solid black. Nice touch brother!
