Life of Pi

I just finished reading, "The Life of Pi," which is an awesome book! It's a story about a man who is stranded on a life raft for I think it was 227 days, with a freaking Bengal Tiger. Pi, the main character is from India and is traditionally Hindu but explores Christianity and Muslim, he doesn't understand why he has to choose only one. He talks about this and his life on the raft, about his struggles to survive his loss of humanity and respect for nature. I don't want to spoil the book at all, so I am going to keep it pretty vague, but seriously I read this book in a couple of day, and I really reccommend it.

Also the pictures are pitches by Tomer Hanuka, for an illustrated version of the book, also that guy is awesome.

I really enjoyed Life of Pi. There is such clear and articulate exploration of religion which, strangely enough, doesn't bog down the story at all.

I read those parts aloud to everyone who I thought would disagree with them.

We really need to put this back up for the book club. I've wanted to read this for a while and it was too bad I didn't read it before the book club fell apart the first time.
